Students reflections on making a colour wheel

"I had designed my own color wheel so it felt nice to try something new and make it visually appealing.I had learnt a lot about every color and its outcome when put across with another color....theoritically colors seemed different but when put on paper, the effect that the combination of primary and secondary colors had given was worth the efforts.....I have been more than satisfied with my color wheel outcome....also felt encouraged when appreciated for the efforts I've put in"

Iman Maleiki's awesome paintings

Iman Maleiki was born on 1976 in Tehran. He has been fascinated by the art of Painting since he was a child. At the age of 15, he started to learn painting under the mastery of his first and only teacher - Morteza Katouzian - who is the greatest realist painter of Iran. Meanwhile, he began to paint professionally. In 1999 he graduated in Graphic Design from the Art University of Tehran. Since 1998, he has participated in several exhibitions. In the year 2000, he got married and in the following year he established ARA Painting Studio and started to teach painting, considering classical and traditional values.


The most important exhibitions he has participated in, are: The Exhibition of Realist painters of Iran at Tehran Contemporary Museum of Art(1999) and The Group Exhibition of KARA Studio Painters at SABZ Gallery(1998) and at SA'AD ABAD Palace(2003) . In 2005, Iman received the William Bouguereau award and the Chairman's Choice award in the second international ARC salon competition

Lost and found

I had lost touch of sketching and drawing after school...I rediscovered it in Flame.The day I sketched, I found myself to be very calm and satisfied and I slept well.It is funny but once again sketching is in my heart and mind. In class or anywhere, whenever I am bored, my hand finds a pencil and automatically starts sketching.

My sketching experience

My sketching experience “healed” my eyes, and also saved my memory.
I was “blind” before I started sketching as I always missed the interesting things around me. I saw not only shapes and colors, but also something other people have ignored, such as textures and shadows. Each time I turn over my sketchbooks, the real scenes in every page pop up in front of me; they are the media of my memories and feelings.Thit is the experience that taught me the most about myself.

calligraphy for me...

Typography and calligraphy is by far the best course i have taken this trimester. Apart from handwriting, it further tests the creative
skills. It forces me to think which is a good thing and also simultaneously learn something new and creative. This is the one course
that helps keep a free, calm and relaxed mind.

The first class of Typography & Calligraphy

Calligraphy means "beautiful writing" but is means "beautiful class" as well.. Our class started with a bang making us all inventors of a new font which we were allowed to create and also name ourselves! Ours was called "missing" and the font can be seen in the visual arts studio, along with many other beautiful creations.
